42, A Jackie Robinson Biopic

Well, now I got goosebumps. They did a good job cutting this trailer. Anyone want to join me in April?

Synopsis:

Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures are teaming up with director Brian Helgeland for “42,” the powerful story of Jackie Robinson, the legendary baseball player who broke Major League Baseball’s color barrier when he joined the roster of the Brooklyn Dodgers. “42” will star Academy Award(R) nominee Harrison Ford (“Witness”) as the innovative Dodger’s general manager Branch Rickey, the MLB executive who first signed Robinson to the minors and then helped to bring him up to the show, and Chadwick Boseman (“The Express”) as Robinson, the heroic African American who was the first man to break the color line in the big leagues.

“This is the End” Red Band Trailer.

Obligatory for today. But seriously, this movie looks like the #1 comedy of next year. It makes it even better that the actors are playing themselves. So meta. Here’s an excerpt from JoBlo.com on the movie and what you see in the trailer:

Plot: The comedy This Is The End follows six friends trapped in a house after a series of strange and catastrophic events devastate Los Angeles. As the world unravels outside, dwindling supplies and cabin fever threaten to tear apart the friendships inside.  Eventually, they are forced to leave the house, facing their fate and the true meaning of friendship and redemption.

THIS IS THE END lovingly mocks the actors real life personalities (that GREEN HORNET jab is awesome). Not sure about the whole alien invasion/rapture effects. This could end up being hilarious or another THE WATCH. I am hoping for Rogen’s sake, this is not another THE WATCH.

THIS IS THE END stars James Franco, Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, with Michael Cera and Emma Watson. It opens on June 14, 2013.
