You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar. I would recommend the impress.js version if you’re feeling nasty.

Impress.js
This isn’t your average html5 slide presentation plugin, this has a little spice to it. What’s the difference? It isn’t simply limiting itself to recreating effects you would see in Powerpoint or Keynote, the damn thing utilizes the canvas element and CSS3 3d transforms, scales, and animation to deliver a pretty badass multi-dimensional experience.
You have to check it out. Even if you don’t do web design, it’s just plain fun.
Github Page. Demo. Holla.

This is very insightful, fellow designers, watch and listen below.

I recently was invited to speak at P&G headquarters in Ohio on “Why Design Matters”. It was a leadership summit of their Global Business Services division which supports all the brands and employees worldwide. For me it was a great chance to reflect on what aspects I see as critical to design and what can get in the way.

Here are the slides. I plan on adding the audio slidecast soon.
UPDATE 6/15: Slidecast now available.

A JavaScript library for building modern HTML presentations. deck.js is flexible enough to let advanced CSS and JavaScript authors craft highly customized decks, but also provides templates and themes for the HTML novice to build a standard slideshow.

This is great! It’s highly interactive and very customizable. I really recommend looking at the demo. Gorgeous stuff. And badass animation effects.

What Google+ is really about

This is an excellent presentation that kinda lays out Google+’s social (or not so social) role in the interwebs.
Now I’ve been on Google+ for a while now, and I have to say, it’s pretty cool.
That being said, it has been way over-hyped as a revolutionary social network (and just in general). About really the only unique feature this thing has are its “Circles”, an interactive drag and drop feature you can organize friends with. That’s pretty cool. Scratch that, it’s pretty badass.
I’m just saying, let’s not jump on the bandwagon just yet, just because it’s new and shiny, and it’s the cool thing to hate on Facebook while lauding G+ as its Goliath Slayer. I’m sorry, it just is slightly irritating to hear all this hype about Google+ and I’m just not quite there myself yet in believing all of the talk.
This presentation does bring up ultimately the real competition (hint…has something to do with the “cloud”).

Who the hell is this guy?

Who the hell is this guy?

Oh wow, someone's actually reading this? OK, this is happening. My name is Alex and I'm a designer with slight anti-social tendencies. I'm black, live in the DFW metroplex, work at an ad agency, and drink alone in the dark on week nights. While being black, I write this blog as a creative outlet when not starting flame wars over the best episode of Battlestar Galactica (Gaeta's Uprising or The Final Five Revelation of course). I share interactive & design inspiration, the latest in pop culture, movies, and general nerdery.

I am currently unmarried and live alone. I make egg sandwiches and have no pets. I like eating tacos with no pants as well.
