So If you’ve noticed this week, I’ve been quiet on the Tumblr front (I think bale of hay flew across my keyboard). I have good reason; over the the past month 1/2, I’ve been working on updating my site with insights and feedback I’ve received since I debuted the latest version (6th I believe) back in April 2011.
I’ve gutted out all the “portfolio” sections and went bigger & bolder with new work, custom illustrated thumbnails, and project images presented in a consistent, aesthetic format. I also treated the project details differently as well. Now you can access the information on hover (or tap on the iPad). I used a scrolling carousel format for the thumbnails as well. So there’s that.
In the “about” section, I removed the the Tumblr feed embed I had. I realized I wasn’t gaining anything from this and wanted to focus more on me than my blog. The layout was a little cluttered, and I wanted to simplify. This also allotted me more room to blow up my featured “brands I’ve worked on” module.
I’m really grateful to all the web resources & blogs that presented my site, because of them I’ve been seeing steady traffic, and has gotten me recognition in the industry (at my job and outside of it- like a feature in Web Designer Magazine).
This is a “.5” update because it’s still the same website, just with some upgrades. Like when Tony Stark gets new armor. Had to throw in the comic book reference. You’ll some tweaks here and there as I work out any unforeseen bugs. But hey guys, stay tuned. I’ve already started concepting for v7. Boom.
